Capital Improvement
Program(CIP) Project Suggestion Form
Due March 20th ,
2006
The purpose of the Capital Improvement
Program Project Suggestion Form is to: 1) provide
citizens with a way to formally nominate a capital project for
consideration during the budget process, 2) make
suggested projects available for comment by neighborhood district councils
and other members of the public; and 3) provide
feedback to citizens about their suggestions. The
desired outcome of this process is to engage the public in a way that
improves the information available to City departments and officials as
they make decisions about possible capital projects. The CIP project suggestion form, along
with instructions and a list of department contacts, are also available at
City Hall’s citizens service bureau, in neighborhood service centers
throughout Seattle and on the city’s Web site:http://www.seattle.gov/financedepartment/CIP_Project_Suggestion_Form.htm Pages 1 and 2 of the suggestion forms
must be submitted to Candice Chin, Department of Finance, by 9 a.m.,
Monday, March 20, 2006. They can be e-mailed, faxed, mailed, or hand
delivered, but e-mail is strongly recommended as your suggestion can be
acknowledged and processed most quickly if received in electronic
form. |
Letter of Intent to Apply to the
Department of Neighborhoods Large Project Fund Due Feb. 6th! (for requests greater
than $15,000 - up to $100,000)
The Large Project Fund is for projects which
take up to 12 months to complete and need more than $15,000 - up to

neighborhood groups and organizations for a broad array of
neighborhood-initiated improvement, organizing or planning projects. A
neighborhood group may be established just to undertake a project.
The group does not need to be
"incorporated."
Once
a project is approved, the community's contribution of volunteer labor,
materials, professional services, or cash will be "matched" by cash from
the Neighborhood Matching Fund. There are four different funds
within the Neighborhood Matching Fund, each with its own funding parameters and application methods. Funds are limited, so it's a competitive
program. In order to apply, you are required to attend a Matching
Fund workshop or make an appointment with a Matching Fund Project
Manager. Applications are considered during specific funding cycles
and the highest rated applications are awarded funds. Please contact
us at 206-684-0464, or visit us on the web at
